Data Center Hot Topics at DCD NY 2024

Find out which experts from Trane will present on important data center topics at DCD NY 2024.

Data Center Dynamics, or DCD, conferences give industry experts an opportunity to come together and discuss the latest trends in the data center industry. According to a recent Forbes article, the recent explosive growth of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence is causing the demand for more data centers to skyrocket. However, with that comes concerns about the energy and water usage data centers need to operate.

Recent studies have shown that by 2030, the overall consumption of data centers across the United States is expected to almost double, moving from 17GW to 35GW. Supporting more AI capabilities means more power and cooling, fueling the need for retrofits and new construction. The challenge is capacity in major US markets is limited to support this demand.

At DCD > Connect New York, topic themes include energy & sustainability, data center cooling, mission critical power, and data center construction. The conference will take place on March 18-19, 2024 at the Marriott Marquis in Time Square.

“In a New York Minute! How Fast Will the Transition to Liquid Cooling Now Be?” | March 19, 2024 at 11:30 am

One major trend that will be discussed is the transition to liquid immersion. Danielle Rossi, Data Center Strategic Leader of Trane, will be part of a very important panel called “In a New York Minute! How Fast Will the Transition to Liquid Cooling Now Be?”

During this panel discussion, other industry subject matter experts will join Danielle to discuss cooling conundrums, revolutionizing efficiency, and how the global regulatory landscape will impact the industry. Read the full abstract to learn more about this panel.

Future of Cooling: Making Data Centers a Force for Good (Invitation-Only) |  March 19,  2024 at 12:30 pm

Trane is also excited to co-host a Future of Cooling Lunch on March 19, 2024, at 12:30 pm with Crane Data Centers, one of our co-location data center customers focused on next-generation data center design.

This invitation-only lunch will dive into the issue data centers are causing for local utility companies with greenhouse gas standards they are trying to meet. However, the same load that makes data centers challenging also allows them to be a force for good. From new and highly efficient cooling technologies to electric load flexibility based on integrated energy storage, to renewable generation that also helps guarantee uptime, novel deployments of mature technologies can help data centers be a force for good in moving to an overall decarbonized grid.

Michael Day, Advanced Energy Program Development Lead of Trane, will co-host “Making Data Centers a Force for Good” with Matt Pfile, CEO of Crane Data Centers.

DCD >  Connect Debate: Liquid Cooling Dominance - The Only Hope for Data Centers? | March 18, 2024 at 1:45 pm

Trane will also participate in a debate about the rising interest in liquid cooling. Danielle Rossi, Data Center Strategic Leader of Trane, will once again join other industry experts from Verizon, Aligned Data Centers, and more. Can liquid cooling entirely replace air cooling? Is there a balanced cooling setup option? Find out during this debate. Read more about this debate here.
