Engineers Week: Professional Development

Learn how we’re supporting the professional development of Trane engineers through education and training, mentoring and networking, and diversity and inclusion.

For over 110 years, Trane has thrived on the development of a well-supported, engineer-led existence. Engineering is at the core of what we do – it’s the foundation for our unique applications and systems expertise, it’s the commitment to using technology and innovation to develop solutions for an evolving buildings industry, and it’s the dedication to produce what is right for today but will transform tomorrow.

“As we celebrate Engineer's Week, I am extremely proud of our talented engineers at Trane Technologies. Their relentless pursuit of challenging possible and boldly innovating is at the heart of our mission to create a sustainable world. Their dedication and ingenuity drive us forward, ensuring that we continue to deliver cutting-edge technologies that make a meaningful impact on our customers and the environment. Thank you all for your unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence.”
Tom Gallant, Vice President of Engineering & Technology

That’s why Engineers Week (EWeek) is not just an important set of dates on the calendar but a reason to engage with engineers young and old, as well as individuals interested in pursuing a STEM-based career. Since 1951, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) has committed a wealth of resources to ensure “a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce” through collaboration across communities, public and private organizations, schools and cultural societies.1

In our local communities, Trane engineers regularly participate in activities to spread passion and awareness for engineering and STEM-based roles. Through associations like ASHRAE, NSPE, and SWE to name a few, an engineer or organization committed to the field and attracting young people to it is never far away.

This week on Trane.com and on social media, we’ll be highlighting diversity of perspective from a few of our engineers. You can also find a variety of recent engineer stories in the Trane Newsroom – see a sampling shared below.

Learn like the future depends on it.
The future belongs to those who never stop learning and for engineers lifelong learning is a critical component to maintaining a balance of intrinsic skill and the consumption of new information like developing technologies and standards. Trane supports engineers in the field by providing a wide range of educational resources designed to deepen your knowledge and improve your designs. Whether you’re looking for technical guides, on-demand webinars on today’s latest topics, or in-depth full or multi-day training programs, you can find everything you need in our Education & Training center. Or visit TraneEngineer.com to access our latest resources including design and analysis tools, technical drawings and more.
