FAQs
A high efficiency gas unit heater is a heating system designed to maximize fuel utilization and minimize energy waste, providing superior heating performance compared to traditional gas unit heaters. These heaters typically feature advanced technology and design improvements that enhance their efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Sizing a high efficiency gas unit heater involves calculating the heating requirements of your space based on factors such as square footage, insulation quality, and local climate conditions. Our account managers can assist you in this process using our advanced selection software, ensuring you choose the right size and model for optimal performance and efficiency.
High efficiency gas unit heaters offer several benefits, including reduced energy consumption, lower operating costs, and improved heating performance. They provide quick and consistent heat distribution, are durable, and require minimal maintenance. Additionally, their advanced design helps to minimize environmental impact.
A high efficiency gas unit heater works by burning natural gas or propane in a combustion chamber, similar to traditional gas unit heaters. However, it incorporates advanced heat exchangers and combustion technology to maximize heat transfer and minimize energy loss. A fan blows air over the heat exchanger, distributing warm air evenly throughout the space.
The primary difference between traditional gas unit heaters and high efficiency gas unit heaters lies in their design and technology. Our high efficiency models feature a a tri-metal stainless steel heat exchanger, improved combustion technology, and a state-of-the-art proprietary combustion control system. This translates to greater efficiency and reduced operating costs.
Yes, our high efficiency gas unit heaters (HEGH) include MODBUS controls and advanced control sequences such as outdoor air reset modulation. MODBUS controls allow for seamless integration with building management systems, enabling precise monitoring and adjustments for optimal performance. Outdoor air reset modulation automatically varies discharge temperatures based on the outside air temperature, providing seamless modulation for optimum efficiencies. By running at lower discharge temperatures subject to the outdoor temperatures, units run longer at higher efficiency, resulting in less cycling, lower fuel costs, and increased occupancy comfort. As the outdoor temperature drops, discharge temperatures increase and vice versa, making outdoor air reset modulation particularly beneficial in regions with substantial daily temperature swings.
Our high efficiency gas unit heater, features a 3:1 turndown ratio. This advanced burner control and configuration allow for precision discharge temperature control, enabling the unit to run more efficiently for longer periods with reduced cycling. In contrast, competitors typically use in-shot burners with a 1:1 on/off configuration, which can lead to over/under heating of the occupied space and increased wear and tear on the equipment due to constant cycling. The 3:1 turndown ratio ensures optimal comfort and efficiency, reducing fuel costs and extending the lifespan of the heater.
