Energy Efficiency’s Economic Impact May Surprise You
November 07, 2013
The role of energy efficiency in our daily lives is a complicated one, according to an article from Greentech Media.
For instance, a recent study from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) found that energy efficiency has a larger impact in delivering economic services than energy production has had in the last 40 years. And yet, when examining the efficiency of America’s economy, we’re still wasting more than 60 percent of all energy produced.
We at Trane work with customers to address both of these areas: How a building’s efficiency can positively impact the bottom line of a company’s profits, as well as the problem of wasted and inefficient energy use.
Whether it is a new building or a retrofit, we consider the entire structure and then work with the customer to set benchmarks and goals for measurement.
Although the results of studies like ACEEE’s may catch some by surprise, our goal at Trane is to lessen the chance for surprises on your energy bill by implementing consistent measurement and metric tracking that help operators adjust systems to optimize building performance.
With this holistic approach, companies can feel more confident that they are maximizing their use of energy and lessening the opportunities for wasting it.
