Intelligent Variable Air Systems Deliver 20 to 30 Percent Better Energy Efficiency
February 25, 2013
I recently returned from the 2013 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration (AHR) Expo in Dallas, where there was tremendous interest in Trane energy efficiency solutions. In fact, according to HPAC Engineering Magazine, the Trane booth was one of "the most talked about and most visited booths at the event."
Of particular interest to visitors was our new EarthWise Intelligent Variable Air system, which resonates with customers because of its innovative, systems-view approach to addressing efficiency challenges.
At the core of Trane’s High Performance Buildings approach is the ability for Trane’s Tracer Building Automation System to provide our customers with real-time data to empower them to make more intelligent decisions about their building systems. With this latest EarthWise solution, customers can use Tracer to easily monitor, manage and sustain a building’s performance with user-friendly dashboards and actionable analytics. Standard Tracer system-level control algorithms continually optimize total system performance. The accurate, real-time data helps customers identify and resolve potential problems before they affect the building’s occupants, as well as maintain overall peak building performance for the life of the system. And thanks to its design strategies and optimized controls, our Intelligent Variable Air systems can deliver 20 to 30 percent better energy efficiency than a traditional variable air volume (VAV) system.
As customers consider implementing a High Performance Buildings approach to managing their building assets, Intelligent Variable Air systems may be a good fit. This technology is flexible enough to be an easy retrofit to most buildings, especially when paired with Trane Wireless Comm technology. Around-the-clock, remote monitoring available from Trane Intelligent Services ensures that customers are always getting the most out of their solution. And Trane’s BacNet open protocol strategies assure this system solution fits into your overall BAS architecture. From the initial retrofit to ongoing support, Trane can take a building’s performance to the next level.
