DAVIDSON, N.C., Aug. 25, 2022 - Trane - by Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), a global climate innovator - celebrated a significant safety milestone at its Commercial HVAC manufacturing facility in McGregor, Texas. The Trane Waco employees accumulated two years, approximately 750,000 work hours, without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness on July 31, 2022.
The facility is on track to reach 1 million hours without a lost time incident by March 2023. There are approximately 200 employees at the site, where Trane has operated for 32 years.
“There is no greater priority than the safety of our people at work,” said Justin Johnson, Waco plant manager, Trane Technologies. “This milestone is a testament to our associates who put safety first and look out for themselves and each other. We will continue to go the extra mile to create a workplace where people want to come to work and go home safely every day.”
Commissioner Aaron Demerson from the Texas Workforce Commission; State Representative Charles “Doc” Anderson of Texas’ 56th District; Robyn Morrison, District Manager for Texas State Senator Brian Birdwell of District 22; as well as other local and statewide public officials, and esteemed members of the community joined Trane business leaders and employees to recognize the milestone.
“Safety is so important, and we are delighted to recognize the entire Trane Waco team for their ongoing commitment to a safe workplace. Workforce, economic development and education coupled with elected leadership that ‘gets it’ is what allows us to succeed in the great state of Texas,” said Commissioner Demerson. “Business is booming, and the Trane Waco team is part of making that happen.”
The plant has a long track record of providing a safe and uplifting work environment for its employees; sustainable, high-performing products for customers; and leading by example in support of Trane Technologies’ purpose to achieve a more sustainable world.
Trane Waco achieved zero waste to landfill in 2017; any non-recyclable trash is sent to a Refuse Derived Fuel facility and used to generate electricity. The facility has also upgraded its HVAC, roofing and lighting systems and implemented a 300,000 gallon capacity rainwater harvesting system to drastically reduce electricity and water usage, while creating a more comfortable, efficient environment.
The Trane Waco plant manufactures Axiom water source heat pumps, which use advanced technology to deliver exceptional energy efficiency and sustainability for building comfort and lower energy and life-cycle costs. The unit’s ultra high efficiency and precise space heating and cooling capabilities are ideal for a variety of commercial building applications, including schools, office buildings, health care, multi-family residential, hotels and more.
