Applications Engineer—Trane Technologies

Scott Delo is a member of the Applications Engineering team based out of Lacrosse, WI, but works remotely from his home in Pittsburgh, PA. His areas of expertise are in chilled water systems, controls, and existing building applications. He is also a member of ASHRAE Standard 100, Energy and Emissions Building Performance Standard for Existing Buildings.

Scott has been with Trane for over 15 years. He started in the Customer Direct Services (C.D.S.) department in Lacrosse supporting TRACE 700 and worked on the development of TRACE 3D Plus. In 2015 Scott moved back to his hometown of Pittsburgh and joined the Mid-Atlantic region of Trane as a Project Developer and Energy Engineer. There he developed energy turnkey and performance contracting projects for building owners. Scott also worked as an Energy Engineer/Account Engineer on the Mid-Atlantic Digital Services Team. In that role Scott used Trane’s building analytic software to identify building control issues and develop solutions for customers. He is an Army Veteran having served as an engineering officer in the Wisconsin and Pennsylvania National Guard for a total of 8 years. 

In Scott’s free time he enjoys working on fixing up his house, visiting national parks, hunting, and going on hikes with his wife Audra, daughter Hazel, and dog Lucy.

Michelle Hull

Applications Engineer—Trane Technologies

Michelle joined Trane in 2019 as a Test Engineer in the La Crosse Research and Development Lab. She later transitioned to the Customer Direct Services (CDS) team as a Building Performance & Systems Engineer, where she led a cross-functional development team focused on TRACE 3D Plus and provided global support and training for CDS program users. Michelle holds a vocational degree in HVAC/R Service & Installation and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. 

As an Applications Engineer, Michelle specializes in chilled and hot water systems and energy modeling. She is an active member of ASHRAE and is currently President of the La Crosse Area ASHRAE Chapter.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys traveling, hiking, rugby, and caring for her two cats, Fridge and Toaster.
